Today the Scandinavians celebrate something called ”International Cinnamon Bun Day” which in Wales would probably translate into a ”Welsh Cake Day”. Welsh Cakes are also known as bakestones within Wales because they are traditionally cooked on a bakestone (Welsh: maen), a cast iron griddle. These treats can be enjoyed with your afternoon tea whatever the time of year and they always manage to create that warm feeling in your gut. We haven’t heard of an Official Welsh Cake Day but…
